Strata is an animated typeface that is constructed with three separate layers for each character. A shape, lines, and a dot make up each individual letter. I wanted to experiment with simple shapes and how they can create something more complex. The layering effect allows for a great deal of experimentation and misinformation. As each layer is displayed individually, the characters break apart and take on a different meaning. These bits of code are nonsensical on their own but when layered together the information of the type is formed.
