Wild America Nature Festival

As the world becomes increasingly more digital, it's important to find the time to learn and educate future generations about the wonderful, natural wilderness that surrounds us. The Wild America Nature Festival was established to raise awareness of the American wilderness through education and art, encourage sustainable enjoyment of the environment with onsite workshops and demonstrations, and promote conservation of our natural world through professional speaker events. Hosted by the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History (RTPI) and Panama Rocks Scenic Park, the festival takes place right on the Panama Rocks park grounds in Chautauqua, NY. It has created a fun, community based atmosphere full of education, local art, sustainable foods, and much more.

To help promote this new event, a visual presence was crafted from scratch, taking roots in park trail way-finding signage and drawing inspiration from the wildlife community surrounding the park as well as the park's unique rock formations. Branding and collateral work include: identity development, unique brand illustrations, promotional posters, park and event guides, illustrated educational "wildcards" deck, and branded apparel.

Community and Wildlife are the key words and foundational roots of the festival. The main illustration highlights this aspect, focusing on the wildlife surrounding the event grounds and bringing it all together in a bold and powerful image.

A deck of "Wild Cards" was created to educate visitors on the wildlife surrounding the park grounds. The cards can be used to identify wildlife while at the festival, and provided QR codes can be scanned for additional information on specific animals.
